Memorial Day

Hello lovely friends! How was everyone's long weekend? I hope it was spent with those you love making special memories. Mine certainly was.

We had a really (really) relaxing day with no agenda. My favorite kind, in fact. Aj's mom (Evie's Nona) and little brother came up from Omaha for the weekend, and it was great to spend some quality time with them. We spent lots of time swimming, eating and staring at the baby- a good time in my book.

It was SO gorgeous outside. I think we went on four walks altogether, just to be outdoors.

The highlight of the day was learning how to make traditional Italian spaghetti from Aj's sweet mama. We cooked the sauce all day long and ate it for dinner. Let me tell you, there's no going back- SO YUMMY.

Miss E had a grand time in her new stroller from Nona, even though she doesn't look thrilled in the middle picture. She loves being outside where there is so much to see and learn.

I feel like summer has officially started (with an 85 degree day today to prove it), and I can't wait. And yesterday was the perfect way to ring it in.

Simply,

Liv

Nebraska So Far

We are settling in to our new town slowly but surely. Going from a busy college town to a quiet, mid-western area has been an adjustment, but I love the laid back atmosphere, the big sky sunsets, and the greenness.

Evie has been getting endless attention from the grandparents and uncles. And I'm not complaining about the built-in babysitters either ;).

Not surprisingly at all, I'm working at a little coffee shop in town. It's been really nice to be able to get out of the house and have some "me time". It is probably frowned upon to say you're getting a job for the "me time"…so don't tell my boss.

AJ is still on the hunt for a good job, but he has a few exciting prospects. We are praying he finds one soon!

We're loving being close to lakes and beaches. Can't wait for those hot summer months for camping and swimming!

Here are a few more random snapshots of our time here so far:

Happy Memorial Day, friends! I hope you're all enjoying the long weekend.

Evie- 4 and 5 Month Update

Things have been crazy for the Youngs family lately. We moved to Nebraska this past week and with goodbyes, packing and unpacking, and planning, I've put blogging on the back burner. (My charger also broke, so thats my other excuse). But I'm back now and hope to pick up right where I left off.

This last month has been a big one for Evie. She went on her first real road trip, she met her great-great grandma, she figured out how to use her hands and she laughs all the time- all big accomplishments, I'd say. I can't believe how quickly she is changing- I swear I say the same things every month, but every month I'm amazed by how much she's grown since the last.

Likes:
- Chewing on everything. This little girl is ready for solids! One more month!
- When people shake their hair. I don't know what it is, but she finds hair hilarious.
- Roxy. She smiles every time she sees Roxy (or any other dog for that matter).
- Grabbing her toes.
-Talking REALLY loudly.

Dislikes:
- Being alone
- Being in her car seat. The 4 hour drive to Nebraska doubled because someone just couldn't get along with her car seat.

She is SUCH a happy girl and is getting so social. Its fun to see her interact with people and learn more and more about her big world everyday.

Easter Sunday :)
