The Guy Behind the Blog // Round Two

I'm not sure if it says more about me or my husband, but last month's interview (it was actually the beginning of this month...but whatever) with AJ was one of my most popular posts ever. Either my normal posts are really boring or AJ is super awesome. We will go with the second one, ok? Don't crush my dreams.

Since the post did so well, and we both had lots of fun doing it, I figured I would make it a monthly thing! Lots of other bloggers are already doing this over at Heavens to Betsy, so I might as well jump on the bandwagon. Stop by the last Friday of every month to see what Mr. Anthony has up his sleeve for Simply Liv.
1 // What’s the best vacation you’ve ever been on?
"When I was 13 my mom and some family friends and I took a fishing trip to Lake of the Woods in Ontario. We woke up early morning to go fishing, hang out and jump off cliffs."

2 // If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
"I would backpack Europe with my beautiful wife." And then he added, "With no kids.
  Me too, babe, me too.
3 // Are there any summer traditions that you have or would like to start?
"I want to have a family vacation every summer. Just me, you and the girls. We could go to a place that we all decide together and then go just us 4.
4 // The 4th of July is coming up…what’s a must-have picnic or BBQ food for you?
"Sleep. Because I have to work on the 4th. But I would want a full rack of ribs and a peach cobbler and oh, girl- potato salad.

5 // What did you want to be when you grew up?
"A garbage man. I'm joking, babe. I used to want to be an architect. When I was in 4th grade. Then I realized I sucked at drawing. I really did want to be a garbage man in preschool though- because I was really in to Tonka trucks."

The Guy Behind the Blog

Sometimes I have a hard time coming up with things to post on a consistent basis. Blogging 101, I know, but keeping consistent content is tricky at times. So....when I come to a blank space in my planner, I have to get a little bit (more) creative. Today, being one of those blank spaces, I thought it would be fun to switch things up a little bit.  You're going to hear a little bit from someone you only know from my perspective- the guy behind the blog, if you will.

This is a super fun monthly link-up with a bunch of other bloggers who interview their guys with the same questions and share their (generally pretty amusing) answers all at once! So be sure to check out the other posts on Betsy's blog- there are some pretty great ones :) I think I may make this a monthly thing...I have a feeling things could get pretty interesting.

So without further ado- take it away, my love:

1 // What is your favorite family tradition?
AJ: Spaghetti on Thanksgiving.
Liv: That's all?
AJ: Yep.

2 // Who's your male celebrity crush?
AJ: (without hesitation) Ryan Gosling.

3 // What song best sums you up?
AJ: Lady Gaga's Poker Face.
Liv: Seriously?
AJ:....no (next three were definite no's)
He finally decided on "Cleaning this Gun" by "Rhett Somebody"...who we later realized was called Rodney Atkins. It's actually a good choice, considering he has two daughters ;).

4 // What three things do you think of the most each day?
-How grateful I am for our beautiful home and my beautiful wife and having a beautiful family to fill it.
- House chores. Projects. What we can get done before the baby gets here.
- What can I do to make things easier for my pregnant wife.
(He may have felt a little pressure to answer these "right"...but I think it's pretty spot on. Previous answers included, but weren't limited to, "when is my acting/modeling career going to take off?" and "what new dance moves should I show Liv tonight?")

5 // What's your most embarrassing memory?
I don't think I've had any.

Apparently the man has never done anything embarrassing, ever. Oh well.

A Grateful Heart (Link-up with Ember Grey)

Happy Memorial Day, friends! I'm posting a little bit later than usual, but I hope you all are having a fun filled, reflective Memorial day. AJ works Saturday-Monday and, unfortunately, doesn't get Memorial day off, so Evie and I spent the day together at the park and enjoyed a three hour nap. I know...you can be jealous.

Today, I'm joining in a link-up over at Ember Grey (who is also hosting an awesome giveaway/ challenge for the month of June, so be sure to give her blog some love!). The theme for the link-up is "grateful hearts"- a theme I'm really excited about, because honestly, I need a little boost in the gratitude department today. It's getting down to the wire with this new baby, and I tend to focus on all the things I still have to get done, instead of taking a few moments to be grateful. So this couldn't have come at a better time!

Grateful Heart w/ Ember Grey

Today I'm grateful for:

+ extra hands over the weekend (thank you Aunt Patti for spending your weekend with us!)
+ the afore mentioned 3 hour nap. I think I'm starting to need those more than E does....
+ having enough space for a garden. AJ finished planting last night, and oh I'm so excited. Growing fresh veggies and fruit right in our back yard? What could be better?
+ a husband who works hard (even on days we wish he could take off).
+ Evie's new-found ability to entertain herself. It makes my day much easier when she can spend a half hour chasing Roxy or rearranging the magnets on the fridge.
+ where I am. I've said a million times how much I never expected to be where I am in life right now, but I wouldn't change a single thing. Even the frustrating, repeating-yourself-fifteen-times, no-you-cannot-eat-that, sit-down-or-so-help-me....moments.

What are you grateful for this week? I'd love to hear! I'm always inspired by what you all have to say.

Simply,

Liv
